The Mental Health First Aid Refresher course enables MHFA First Aiders and MHFA Champions to refresh and maintain their skills. This course is suitable for all staff that completed the One or Two Day MHFA course around 2-3 years ago. MHFA England's Two Day and One Day courses are valid for three years.

Renew and refresh skills
Give the chance to practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan
Be presented online with an accredited trainer in limited size groups to ensure safety of delegates

What is Mental Health First Aid about?

Everyone has mental health like physical health, but mental ill health can strike at any time, and can affect anyone. At MYB, we want to help alleviate the stigma that still exists around mental ill health, and through providing MHFA England courses, we have found that this has been a huge step towards doing so. Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised training course that teaches individuals how to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and provides support on a first aid basis.

Mental Health First Aiders will have:

An in depth understanding of mental health & factors that affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot triggers & signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure & support someone in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening
Knowledge to help a person recover their health by guiding them to further support
Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Adult Aware Half Day course

It is an introduction to MHFA and it is designed to give:

An understanding of some of the common mental health issues and how to challenge the stigma of mental health
An introduction in how the attendees can look after their own mental health and maintain their wellbeing
Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

One day Course qualifies attendees as Mental Health First Aid Champions

Mental Health First Aider Champions have:

An understanding of common mental health issues
Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness
Ability to spot signs of mental ill health
Skills to support positive wellbeing
